Set Up Your Free "Market Turn" Time Clock

Let's be honest. Sitting in front of a PC for hours watching charts tick by can be boring. And if your patterns aren't setting up on the charts it can be easy to get distracted with chat rooms, music, TV (the Business station, of course). Or maybe you just find excuses to get out of the chair. Or you start surfing the web.

Then one of those "Classic Times" of day arrive and you aren't ready to take advantage of what is about to happen.

One thing I have done is to use a free software alarm clock that plays wave audio files. I used to merely have generic sounds and a pop up window. Now I have custom Voice Alerts that remind me of specific times of day when I want to be sure I'm especially attentive. Even if I'm off in other room, the 2pm Eastern Alert brings me back to my desk.

I'm not sure where else you can download this Free Alarm Clock, since I couldn't find it any more. So I am posting it here for you.

And here are a couple generic Voice Alerts I made that you can download. Classic Time & Classic Time Setups.

To download any of these, just Right-Mouse-Click and chose "Save Target As..."

I have made some great custom Voice alerts to go with my various charts and indicators. The Voice Alerts tell me exactly which chart - and which indicator on the chart - is triggering that Alert.

For example, when my custom "Soo-Dicator" has turned GREEN, I hear this: (Click to Listen). (In the PitStock chat room, my Nick is "SanSoo" -- hense the Soo-Dicators I code for my use in TradeStation.)

If your own charting software is able to give you .wav Alerts, then you may wish to consider creating your own custom Voice Alerts. In TradeStation, all standard Indicators can be given a .wav file sound to alert you. Maybe your charting software can do the same.

The software I use to make my custom Voice Alerts is NextUp's TextAloud, where you can download a free Demo and free Voices. High-quality voices can be purchased separately.

Using TextAloud, I highlight the various news stories I'm interested in on the web, then listen to them as I'm going over my charts for the day, and planning tomorrow's activity. Saves a lot of time!

And don't let the old, free voice in the examples above fool you. State-of-the-art PC voices have come a very long way, and the ScanSoft RealSpeak voices are my personal favorites.

BTW, I don't make a dime from any of the recommendations on this page. It's just stuff I like and use myself.
